One of Hammer’s most audacious reinventions!

Introducing Studio Canal's Limited Edition 2-Disc UHD 4K (Region Free) + Blu-ray (Region B) release for 1970's The Horror of Frankenstein. Hammer stalwart Jimmy Sangster (The Curse of Frankenstein, Dracula) steps behind the camera for his directorial debut with The Horror of Frankenstein — a daring blend of gothic horror and sly black comedy that reimagines Mary Shelley’s immortal tale for a new generation.

When the brilliant but cold-hearted Victor Frankenstein (Ralph Bates) murders his father, he inherits both the title of Baron von Frankenstein and the family fortune. Using his wealth to pursue forbidden scientific study, Victor’s ambition soon leads him back to his ancestral estate — and to a series of macabre experiments designed to reanimate the dead.

From stolen corpses to unholy creation, Frankenstein’s monstrous ambition culminates in the birth of his most terrifying achievement: a creature (played by David Prowse) destined to bring chaos and carnage to all who cross its path.

Stylish, witty, and wickedly subversive, The Horror of Frankenstein stands as one of Hammer’s most audacious reinventions — a darkly humorous twist on the studio’s own classic legacy.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This set contains 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray (Region Free) and Blu-ray (Region B) Discs. An all-region Blu-ray player is required to read Region B Discs. Standard U.S. Blu-ray players will NOT read Region B Discs. Looking for all-region players? We got your covered!
