Introducing 88 Films' Limited Edition 3-Disc Blu-ray set for 1978's Magnificent Bodyguards. Jackie Chan leaps out of the screen in 1978 cult classic! As Lord Ting Chung, he commits to leading a team of warriors escorting a gravely ill man across a treacherous land known as Stormy Hills — a place filled with danger, betrayal and possible death. But as the journey unfolds, could their mysterious charge be hiding a deadly secret?

Magnificent Bodyguards has never been legitimately released to Western audiences on VHS, DVD or Blu-ray, until now. And unless you caught it in Hong Kong or grindhouse theaters in late 70s/early 80s, it’ll be the first time most of us will be seeing in 3D.

Directed by Lo Wei, the filmmaker who gave the world The Big Boss and Fist of Fury, this is classic martial arts madness — complete with a score that may sound very familiar to fans of a certain galaxy-spanning sci-fi saga. For this release, the stereoscopic presentation has been carefully restored, with alignment and panel matching work carried out by the team at the 3-D Film Archive, helping bring this rare Hong Kong 3D spectacle back to life as originally intended for the big screen.
