The classic crime serials that influenced Fritz Lang and Alfred Hitchcock!

Introducing Eureka's Blu-ray (Region B) release for Judex, the complete 12-part serial on 2 discs. An early cinematic pioneer with an undeniably pervasive influence, Louis Feuillade made hundreds of films in a short career spanning only a few decades. Today, he is best remembered for his landmark serials Fantômas, Les Vampires, Judex and Tih-Minh, four crime epics that have had an immeasurable impact on popular culture around the globe.

In the 12 episodes of the groundbreaking and highly influential detective thriller Judex, a mysterious vigilante (René Cresté) with an insatiable thirst for justice sets out to bring down a corrupt banker named Favraux (Louis Leubas) – and take revenge for sins of the past.

Feuillade’s crime serials had an enormous impact on some of the greatest filmmakers of the twentieth century, chiefly Fritz Lang and Alfred Hitchcock. They also played an important role in the development of the criminal mastermind and masked vigilante characters that would proliferate in pulp magazines, film, television, radio and comic books over the next few decades, including Dr Mabuse, The Shadow and Diabolik. The Masters of Cinema series is honoured to present Judex on Blu-ray from an astonishing 4K restoration.

IMPORTANT NOTE: An all-region Blu-ray player is required to view this movie. Standard U.S. Blu-ray players will NOT read Region B discs. If you're looking for a reliable all-region player, we've got you covered!
