Written and directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank, Crank: High Voltage), Gamer takes audiences into a near-future where technology has blurred the line between entertainment and reality.  

Kable (Gerard Butler) is the world's most celebrated participant in Slayers, a brutal online game where prisoners are controlled by players in the outside world. Forced to fight for his life while under the command of a stranger, Kable has only one goal: escape the game and reunite with his wife and daughter. But when he discovers that the game's creator (Michael C. Hall – Dexter) has much bigger plans, Kable must take the fight beyond the virtual battlefield and bring down the man controlling the game before it's too late...

In short, Gamer makes Grand Theft Auto look as dangerous as Connect Four.
