A gangster and the woman he never meets form an unforgettable bond!
Introducing Whole Grain Pictures' Blu-ray (Region A) release for Failan, a 2001 melodrama from Song Hae-Sung, who directed the 2010 remake of John Woo's A Better Tomorrow.
Kang-kae's a gangster, but he's just too nice to be all that successful at it. When his boss commits a murder, it's Kang-kae who is picked to take the fall for the crime. Failan is a young girl who comes to Korea following the death of her parents, only to find that the aunt she was supposed to stay with has left the country. She wants a job, but needs an extended residence permit. What starts as a marriage of convenience becomes an unforgettable story of connection, longing, and distance.
Starring Choi Min-sik (Old Boy, Lady Vengeance) and Cecilia Cheung (One Nite in Mongkok, King of Comedy), Failan was the recipient of several critic's and international film festival awards.
