A rare look into the controversial production of The Unicorn Palm!
Bruce Lee — The Unicorn Palm revisits this fascinating and often overlooked chapter of Bruce Lee’s Hong Kong years through a highly visual collector’s publication.
Drawing upon rare photographs, original production imagery, contemporary Hong Kong magazine reports, archival material and first-hand recollections, the publication explores the making of the film, Bruce’s contribution to its martial arts, his friendship with Unicorn Chan, and the controversy that subsequently surrounded his involvement.
Period coverage from publications including New Martial Hero, Martial Magazine and International Screen provides a window into how the production and Bruce’s participation were reported at the time.
At its heart, however, this is as much a story of friendship and loyalty as it is filmmaking — the story of Bruce Lee helping an old friend at a time when demands on his own career had never been greater.
Presented as a photo-driven Special Collector’s Edition, Bruce Lee — The Unicorn Palm brings together imagery and material from this little-documented production in a publication created for Bruce Lee enthusiasts, Hong Kong cinema historians and collectors alike.
Only 150 of these were printed and we have a very limited amount that we imported into the U.S. from the UK, by way of London-born Steve Kerridge, author of eight books (and many magazines) dedicated to Bruce Lee – all of which have been authorized by Lee’s family. This Limited Edition publication is not just a great collector's item, it's also an investment, as only 150 (in the world) have been produced.
